Pierre-Yves Lecoeur
Pierre-Yves Lecoeur, developed his fine European interior design talents out of his 15 years of experience working for high end design firms in Casablanca, Monte Carlo, Nice and Los Angeles. He further refined his skills over the next 15 years he spent serving Boulder Colorado County clients, for both residential and commercial projects.
Having spent 5 years in the Mayan Riviera of Mexico building ecological projects, Pierre has further expanded his knowledge of materials, lifestyle integration and design. He is now back in Boulder offering his years of talent in creative interior design, painting and interior remodeling.
Pierre-Yves Lecoeur's creative story
Pierre-Yves Lecoeur was born and raised in Casablanca Morocco, the youngest of 7, born into a French family. His artistic and design talents began at age 4 where he was the family artist and fashion consultants for his mom. He graduated from a French high school in Casablanca, with a bacalaureat degree in art. He then studied at L'Ecole des Beaux Arts (School of Fine Arts) in France, where he received his academic knowledge of art history, theory of colors, 3D visualization, and artists skills and sensitivities.
Pierre-Yves Lecoeur's knowledge for color consulting began in Morocco at age 22, where he worked as a designer for Royal Air Morocco designing agencies in Zurich, Rio, and Morocco.
A trip to the US, Central and South America on a motorcycle and then buses into the Amazon introduced him to the Latin ethnic culture and building styles.
By age 25 Pierre-Yves was working for Arredo, a high end design firm in Monte Carlo, Monaco. In his 2 years there he gained experience working with high end clients. This included creating a masterpiece glass dinning table for 12 that was delivered by helicopter to the clients rooftop suit, designing luxury cushions for Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly's yacht along with other residential jobs.
In Nice, France his commercial design work expanded as he worked at Gouniauld commercial firm, creating displays for over numerous pharmacies, bar/tabacs, and dozens of Casino supermarket isle-boutiques.
Pierre-Yves then moved to Los Angeles where he worked for over 4 years with the French architect and developer Dominique Roccofort de Viniere. There he refined his skills in commercial and residential design and began to integrate his European & Moroccan cultural eye into the US market. He designed boutiques, shoe stores, beauty salons, Guess stores as well as being an intricate part of the design team for over 12 Baby Guess stores. His high end residential interior design skills were further developed as he designed for clients in Beverly Hills.
By 1990 Pierre-Yves had moved his family to Boulder, CO ready to step out on his own. Here his interior color consulting, painting and faux finish skills were perfected. He expanded over the years into full interior designing from blue print redesigning, to remodeling, to hanging the last piece of art. His services were in high demand in the then-new subdivisions in north Boulder including over 30 houses in the North Briar Estates. His European touch was in high demand for remodels and interior design to increase property values for real estate agencies including: Jim Bodin Real Estate and Remax and Fit Properties. Commercial jobs including all finish materials selection and design for One Boulder Fitness, Mortuary residential redevelopment.
From 2001-2008 Pierre-Yves spent most of the winter months sailing the Caribbean on his 40' Catamaran absorbing the local culture, colors and lifestyle. Here he reconnected with his artistic side and created a series of pastel art inspired by the Caribbean.
In 2009 Pierre-Yves spent 5 years in Mayan Riviera of Mexico where he built Ecological projects. Combining the Mayan and European building styles he created new and unique living experience homes.
Since 2014 he is back in Boulder to serve you!
